In 1968, First Presbyterian Women began the Bargain Box thrift Shop. It was originally envisioned to support nursing scholarships at St. Joseph's Hospital, located across the street from the church at that time. Over the years, the mission of the Bargain Box grew to include dozens of agencies and families in need across Garland County, Arkansas.
Every Monday morning, volunteers clean, check, price, and display items which have been donated.
On Wednesday afternoons, Bargain Box volunteers sell these items to the public.
A self-led study, women of First Presbyterian read books which often take a new look at old, familiar scriptures. Join us every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Led by Sandy Matheney, the Circle Bible Study meets on the third Tuesday of each month. This year's study is "Celebrating Sabbath". Accepting God's gift of rest and delight.
In the nine lessons of this Bible study—with passages from Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, and Acts—we’ll consider Sabbath
Ultimately, Sabbath reminds us to honor God who honors us by giving us a day each week to reset our pace, our priorities, and our lives.
